So whats the difference between te turbo charger and the superchargers ?
In this post we are going to help explain the misconfusion and help you beeter identify the difference.

Superchargers have the same design as turbochargers do, in the effect that it compresses air aswell. Superchargers can also be made to fit on any type of engine, and only comes in two types of kits. Both are fanbelt pulley driven units. When it comes to horsepower and torque, superchargers can gain as much as 40 percent in horsepower and 50 percent in torque with the use of just a base kit.

In short: Air + Fuel = Power. More air and fuel = more power. The goal of adding forced induction to a car is to add more air and fuel, and thus create more power. Both turbochargers and superchargers force air into the intake manifold under pressure. The most fundamental difference is that a turbo is powered by a turbine driven by exhaust gasses from the engine, while a supercharger is powered by a belt driven by the engine.

Deffintion: Superchargers and Turbochargers. A supercharger is any device that pressurizes the air intake to above atmospheric pressure. Both superchargers and turbochargers do this. In fact, the term "turbocharger" is a shortened version of "turbo-supercharger," its official name.

The supercharger has proven to be one of the most effective means for obtaining increased power from an internal combustion engine without having to make major engine modifications. This is accomplished by compressing combustion air before it enters the cylinders, which increases density. This results in improved cylinder filling, allowing more air and fuel to be burned in the combustion cycle, with dramatic increases in torque and horsepower.

Installation of a supercharger usually takes about 6 to 8 hours… if you are mechanically inclined and there is no cutting or welding required. Superchargers also tend to last longer than turbo chargers because they do not require much maintenance and have a self contained oil supply.
Turbochargers and Superchargers are two of the best ways to accomplish your goals by producing more power and faster times. Both have great sounds, the superchargers with their aggressive whistling sound, and the turbos with their jet engine type sound.

When will the NEW Chevrolet Camaro be available? Is it just a concept car or is it real? Is there a list I can sign up to get one? I heard they were going to produce a 2009 Camaro is this true?

Will it be available with an automatic? What colors are available? A. Just announced, on August 10th, 2006 by GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner, Chevy will produce a new Camaro. Production will begin in late 2008 for a 2009 Chevy Camaro that should go on sale by the first quarter of 2009. It should be almost identical to the Camaro Concept car displayed at the 2006 North American International Auto Show.

Production of the Camaro will begin in late 2008, and the much-anticipated car will hit showrooms in early 2009, presumably after a massive debut at the '09 Detroit Auto Show.

The all-new Camaro will begin with early production versions at the end of 2008 and will go on sale in the first quarter of 2009. “The new Camaro will be almost identical to the concept, a thoroughly modern interpretation of the 1969 model, considered by many to be the best design of the car’s first generation,” said Ed Welburn, GM's global vice president of design, who owns a 1969 Camaro SS. The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sport coupe will feature an independent rear suspension, and will be offered in a variety of models with the choice of manual and automatic transmissions and V-6 and V-8 engines.

With the release of the 2009 Camaro about a year away, things are gearing up and getting plenty hot in Detroit. Chevrolet will show off the convertible version of the Camaro at the North American International Auto Show. Along with the release, inside sources say this is good news for the United Kingdom, as Chevrolet has unofficial plans to send the Camaro over the pond.

As far as I can see the new 2009 Camaro concept car is being very well received in the automotive community, at the first a lot of people hemmed and hawed about one thing or another, just the same as I did, But after spending some time doing a little research on it, I discovered that the 2009 Camaro is a very well put together car for a concept car.

GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced today that GM will build an all-new version of the Chevrolet Camaro sport coupe based on the award-winning concept that stole the spotlight at the North American International Auto Show and has ignited the passion of car enthusiasts around the world ever since – even spurring consumers to start petition drives and send in certified checks in hopes of placing early deposits.

Both the coupe and convertible version would be available in right hand drive configurations, probably sporting anywhere from a 300 horsepower V6 to an over 400 horsepower V8. Sources estimate the cost to be around 30,000 pounds and expect them to go on sale in 2009. If the market seems excited enough, Ford might have to jump on the bandwagon with the Ford Mustang, as well as DCX sending its new Dodge Challenger to play as well, once again bringing up daydreams of a Trans Am revival. Next week will surely be an exciting week for automotive news. We may finally learn some of the different trim versions available for the new pony cars.

GM officials have estimated that the new Camaro could get 30 or more miles per gallon on the highway with a V8 that goes to four cylinders at highway speeds. With gas prices probably being $3.50/gallon or more by the time the new Camaro comes out 30 or more MPG will be needed if not in effect required. Let's just hope it's not to little to late because 2009 is a long time away and a lot can change by then.
